Inspiration From The Yoga Mat This Morning

Hello!!

Oh my gosh, Groovy Art People, I’m so anxious and excited to get going with my art today!!

Inspiration starting coming in flows during Ashtanga this morning so I’m adding those ideas to this week’s Artsy Bullet List that I actually started yesterday thinking unrealistically that I could complete the whole list in one day, HA! My goals are usually bigger than I can manage in a day but most of the time I give it a good go. Sometimes I procrastinate though. I do. Don’t know why. Facebook used to be the culprit but I limit my time there now so I can paint more and scroll less.

So the Bullet List:

from yesterday:

  • peace soup mini art quilt
  • begin making some ornaments (in progress)
  • a bowl
  • add the hanging tabs to the art I finished yesterday
  • snap some pics
  • work on a new stain glass piece (faux)
  • work on new dreamcatcher (in progress)

adding on:

  • make spirit dolls
  • Yoga Art
  • Comic Zine
  • Yoga Straps

Errands:

  • white felt (found some)
  • plexi
  • take hose clamps back to Harbor Freight since I didn’t use them on the air compressor
  • clean out/purge Narnia again
  • work on new dreamcatcher
  • buy osb for new drawing table I’m making from a platform bed

Ok, my friend, I’m cold and need coffee since I just practiced Ashtanga yoga but here’s some new art pics!

before I forget though, every day now I’ve be posting a new art pic on my Instagram so if you want to check them out here’s a link, follow me there so you don’t miss anything 😀 Instagram Art

and I post every day here…The Barefoot Home

a yoga mat, a runner and a scarf…

hello groovy art people!

i hope the week is kicking off well for you. i’m already running like mad but i have coffee so it’s okay.

last week i started writing without caps because i just really like the way it looks man. hope it doesn’t bother you.

so i had big plans for last week that i failed to meet but i suppose that’s life since that’s what usually gets in the way of my art.

here’s a little look back:

  • I’m going to burn my Money Attracting incense all day long as
  • I work on the Memories on Runner commission. I am so looking forward to working on it today and I
  • want to begin a new scarf and
  • work on the yoga mat since it’s almost done.
  • I need to get the new batch of pins ready for the consignment shop just in case
  • and begin a new long overdue issue of The Zen Pen because I really miss it too.
  • I suddenly just got the jones to work on a new dream catcher too!
  • I’ve got to go tomorrow to get the 6 foot boards for the store commission and maybe swing by the warehouse ( I met a man yesterday at the flea market who said he would hook me up with a good deal on some bottles for an upcoming venture.)

so this week’s bullet list:

  • finish runner commission which almost done
  • finish yoga mat which is almost done
  • finish rainy’s scarf which is almost done
  • work up sketches for new commissions
  • buy material for store commission and begin it
  • maybe organize my studio

so the tell part is over now onto the show!

if you dig what i do then hit me up if i can add to your super groovy art collections or yoga studios!!

if you want stop by the barefoot home i’m there rambling on about something everyday or if my craziness is enough just once a week then stop by next monday for a little more!

And it is my goal to have The Zen Pen Peace Project zines published!! I have characters and free verse and life lessons man. I think I can! I think I can! I think I can! and if I think I can then…I can.

I’ve been delving more and more into digital art at night while watching tv on the iPad with my finger lol. I want a tablet I can create the art on instead of the Intuos I have. For me, it’s awkward to look at the screen and use a stylus on a pad but I have strong desire to learn so I will eventually get it.

Here’s some of my digital art, but remember, I’m just doing this with my finger lol.

My coffee bowl is empty and I’m jonesing for more and paint and maybe some rice cake so I’m gonna bounce. Meet me back here next Monday for an update. You keep me on track my friend!! And Likes and Comments mean A LOT!! So, Thanks in advance!!

If you want to you can pop in The Barefoot Home all week so see what’s happening…probably art and music and yoga and coffee and random life stuff.

See you soon Peace-Seeker!

Bullet Journal Art Entry, Digital Art and Goals

First off, I’m going to start posting my art blog on Monday’s. I know today is Tuesday but it’s closer to Monday than Thursday and I only decided this right this minute and I like the decision. I think it’ll make more sense for me and getting focused.

I’m trying to work some ideas out in my mind for a sustainable art future. I’m not getting any younger you know, but with yoga…I’m not getting any older either lol.

So, I’m thinking I need to streamline my thinking, creating, making.

I need to focus focus focus.

I’m taking a class about the Path to Success. I’ve just completed a list of artsy goals. So far I’ve haven’t really set them up as long, med and short term yet.

My interest are:

  • writing free verse poetryDSCN5221
  • painting peace artDSCN5545
  • chakrasDSCN5553
  • simple livingDSCN5281
  • yoga

    Sunshiny Hippie Morning
  • mindful livingDSCN5538
  • organic gardeningteal mushroom riding
  • herbs peace positive girl
  • digital art (I’m really starting to dig it)IMG_0531

I want to make:

art art art and more art

I want to make buttons, stickers, magnets, books, cards, games, chakra sticks, hair sticks and charms and stuff

I’m taking a class about the Path to Success. I’ve just completed a list of artsy goals. So far I’ve haven’t really set them up as long, med and short term yet.

Here they are:

Goal #1: The Zen Pen Peace Project…I want to be a published best selling writer/illustrator of whimsical zen  books for Peace-Seekers.

So, here’s what I’m thinking to accomplish it: I think I could focus on the art/poetry/quotes/coloring zine each month with a theme and that month’s 52 Week Path To Peace Project included.

I’m thinking that The Zen Pen could incorporate all these things. I could make the stickers and buttons and stuff to go along with the zines.

Maybe it could lead to being published.

I could:

  • submit to publishers
  • art galleries
  • hippie shops

I want to make a difference. I want my art to mean something. I want to make a stand for the planet and do my best to save it.

Bullet Journal Entry March 5-12:

  • finish memory game cards/list
  • package buttons/lists
  • Chakra sticks
  • finish yoga sketches
  • check into Patreon
  • paint!
  • work on The Zen Pen zine
  • order ink
  • order logo stamp
  • delve more into digital art

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and any advice will be so appreciated!!

I hope you have a beautiful week and I hope you will keep coming back.

Yoga and Art!

I did accomplish some art this past week!

I worked on the yoga themed art studies

I think I like this one the best…

DSCN5264
#4 in yoga girl study

Which do you like the best?

Here’s another version…and I love it too. Help me!! Pick your favorite ok?

I collated and delivered the zines to the library…

I mailed out art that sold…three coloring books and The Zen Pen Solar Eclipse Issue.

I started a target list of publications to submit my free verse to. I need to pick up an address book to keep them organized. Maybe I’ll do that today. I need index cards and toothpaste and cashew or almond milk too.

We went to a surprise masquerade birthday party on Saturday. Sky wore a suit with a super cool Phantom Of The Opera style mask and his long long hair was loose even though I tried to get him to wear it back in a pony tail. Rainy was so beautiful in a classic little black dress I’m sure Coco herself would have loved. Her mask was white and lacy and so cute! I wore a longish sweater dress in brown and boots. My mask was black with golden leafs a big black flower and swirls. Sparky and Michael dressed down but wore cool masks too.

The party was fun and cold which made it even funner since it was held outside in a party tent. I left with Rainy and Michael to come home to practice yoga and get some work done while Sparky and Sky stayed on for another couple of hours.

I’ve got two more illustrations to do on my new issue for The Zen Pen which is based off a free verse poem I wrote one Friday on TheBarefootHome blog. I am loving it!! I can’t wait to start painting them!

And I guess that’s it. So, here’s last week’s artsy to do list….

  • work on my new zine
  • work on my yoga cards
  • work on my wrapping paper design
  • work on my uv study
  • pick out 5 poetry/chapbook publishers to submit to
  • read the submission guidelines to Mind Body Green
  • clean out at least one of the drawers in my studio
  • work on the big big big dreamcatcher
  • begin a giant blacklight Alice inspired painting (so so so looking forward to this one)
  • photograph and list Cosmic Kitties blacklight art in my Dawn Collins Art etsy shop
  • paint art to make into a table
  • print The Zen Pen and do another mailing and take ten of the zines to the library

Here’s my new list…

  • Finish yoga study and begin art
  • Work on illustrations for The Zen Pen
  • Make the huge Dreamcatcher
  • work on Christmas tag designs
  • work on new sketch for huge blacklight art
  • submit some poems online
  • print and collate The Zen Pen Mini for another mailing
  • finish up Cosmic Kitties, photograph it and list it
  • clean out one drawer in my studio
  • buy art supplies
  • work on another canoe
  • mail out art that sold

Also I begin a new course this week!! A writing course! So excited!

I hope your week is beautiful and artsy and so so so inspired and I hope you can stop by again next week to see what I get done. You help keep me on track! Thanks!!

Hey, if you want, stop by the barefoot home tomorrow for some free verse hippie poetry.
