Hey beautiful artsy friends.

I hope life is treating you well. I really do, not just being polite or something. Life can be…challenging so yeah, I really hope it’s being good to you.

It’s been crazy this past year but it’s ok now since I’m not at a loss of ideas, inspiration or paint! I have a new piece of art to show you and new videos on YouTube too. I don’t edit my videos, don’t know how….yet…or maybe ever. I like keeping it real, you know? But I would like to do some painting time lapse videos with music so that’s something to work on when I get my camera for Christmas which I know I am getting since I ordered it and have in fact received it but won’t use it until Christmas Day. See what a good little hippie I am? heehee.

So here’s the new art!!

I think of the new series as a patchwork of memories and hopes and plans. There’s a story in these pieces if you just look through the panels and make it up as you go but be sure each element means something to me even if it is just plain old nonsense la la la. [I’m smiling at you, I hope you’re smiling back]

I’ve put up a couple of videos this past week. Super short and as usual completely unedited if you want to check them out….

Now some thoughts….which I seem to have forgotten. I’m serious, everything that was on my mind has melted away, I suppose because I’m in the studio looking at a painting in progress and really anxious to get to it.

My artistic voice is singing loud and clear and who cares if it’s off key or doesn’t make sense. Art doesn’t have to match the sofa 😀 My art these days is telling my story be it a daydream or memory or what is happening right now. I’m flowing with the surreal, the abstract, the outsider, the graffiti, the colorful vibe and probably will be forever. Lol, sorry, got carried away.

New Art, Finally!

I’ve been working! I’m currently drawing a big piece that I will take to my printer so it can be a poster size color it yourself!! I’m stoked. I will give you a sneak peek, maybe, if I don’t forget and the cat doesn’t delete it lol.

Believe it or not but I’ve been trying to upload these pics for an hour! I don’t know what’s going on my pics man.

Beach Love

Monday:

My midfoot is still swollen but I need art, my Ashtanga yoga practice has been on hold but today I rolled out my mat and practiced some cardio core followed by deep stretching and this evening I’ll probably practice some yin, I say all this because for me, yoga and art are my basic needs! Lol, it’s true, I need them like air and shelter and water. So let’s see what happens today…

Here’s what I worked on!! I think I’m digging the second image the most. What do y’all think? They are both works in progress…so not done!

Tuesday:

Worked on a new piece but not the above ones…we ran a lot of errands after which I just wanted off my sprained foot. Not much to see yet so I’ll post pic of it on Wednesday…

It’s almost done now!

And this one is almost done now too. I love the message and how the colors pop. POP!

I have an image in my head and I think I may do it poster size first before painting it as a tapestry just to see it in life and not just in my old hippie head.

Haven’t worked up that image but the paint is drying on the beach house piece!

And began this sunshine beauty!

She shimmers a lot! I love her. Can’t wait to see her under the blacklight!

Pop Goes Some More Art!

Okay so the first ones aren’t new but I wanted to see them together as a collection and I love love love it! I’m working on Strawberry Hill right now and hopefully I can finish it in a couple of days.

I plan on keeping this series going while exploring the subject matter of people in their natural habitats. I want to delve into what makes us tick. I think it’ll have the pop art comic book vibe but I’ll see how it rolls.

I did this one too. She’s the first in a new series on what goes on in our minds. Are we saying what we think? Are we suppressing emotions, self-sacrificing? I don’t know.

I heard from Jessica at CBS again! I can’t believe she took time out of her no doubt super busy day to email me! She’s digging my sunshines!! My art will pop up on CBS some Sunday morning!! And since today is Monday I’ll submit another one as I do every Monday.

New Art!

Namaste artsy peeps!

I cannot wait to get to the studio!

This morning on the yoga mat I received so much inspiration! I’ve been wanting to dip my toe back into the art licensing pond but I know from past experience that the big abstracts I paint won’t appeal to art directors…too much to see. And while I love painting that way, take the Hotel California series I just painted which I still believe will make a great wine label, I need to streamline and reel in my ideas a little more and today I know what I want to try. A new technique and everything!

But before I do that here’s last week’s studio work and I am so digging it!

Still working on those.

But I think this one is done…

I can’t wait any longer! I’m stoked! And I don’t have much time this morning in the studio and I need coffee and the dogs want back in…it’s cold and rainy so I’m gonna bounce!
