Closing My Eyes On The Passing Year

Hey beauties!

We’re closing in on the year, aren’t we? Wow, can you believe it? Some years I would have maybe said no, no I can’t believe it, but this year I can say yes, yes I do believe and I, for one, am glad. I don’t like punctuation, would you be appalled if I forgo it?

This year has found me tired and stressed and often procrastinating because of confusion or boredom or something. Fortunately and not luckily since I don’t really believe in luck so much as we create the so called luck with our actions, so fortunately, I have been finding my artistic voice again and setting up some goals that I WILL reach within the next year, this is my vow to myself and my art and my family.

I have purged a lot of art, out with the old and in with the new! I will squash the meanies, the negative voices in my head and in my reality. I will not let them conquer or confuse me anymore ever again. I will bend like a tree in the wind so I don’t break under the pressure of a storm but I will not stop until I accomplish my goals in order or out of order it matters not. It only matters to keep moving, it’s hard to hit a moving target so any thing that is no longer useful, positive or healthy for me won’t land on me again.!

I got a camera for Christmas for making my YouTube videos but I haven’t delved into editing as of yet and really it’s only been a couple of days so I might but I have to admit I like to keep it real, unedited, unscripted, and raw, pretty much how I live my life. Here’s a link to my latest video if you want to check it out. I begin by listening to my horoscope which is uncanny in it’s accuracy. https://youtu.be/MN17i6qvBls

Ok, so new art, I have several pieces in progress but none are finished yet so that means next week so many pieces! How about a little look back at some of my favorite pieces of art though?

Each piece of art is made of memories. I can remember the coffee I drank, the music I vibed to, the weather if it was raining or hot or cold if it was day or night. I am transported back on a wave of colors, vibrant, psychedelic, glowing colors! It’s the moment the piece began and the last stroke added and all the moments in between. I live to make art. I really do. I love it.

I hope your Christmas was beautiful and your hearts full of Peace Love and Happiness my beautiful artsy friends. I appreciate the time you have shared with me, I look forward the year ahead and all the artful memories we will make!!

Big hugs & Much Peace Love Art

New Art & Vlogs Too

Hey beautiful artsy friends.

I hope life is treating you well. I really do, not just being polite or something. Life can be…challenging so yeah, I really hope it’s being good to you.

It’s been crazy this past year but it’s ok now since I’m not at a loss of ideas, inspiration or paint! I have a new piece of art to show you and new videos on YouTube too. I don’t edit my videos, don’t know how….yet…or maybe ever. I like keeping it real, you know? But I would like to do some painting time lapse videos with music so that’s something to work on when I get my camera for Christmas which I know I am getting since I ordered it and have in fact received it but won’t use it until Christmas Day. See what a good little hippie I am? heehee.

So here’s the new art!!

I think of the new series as a patchwork of memories and hopes and plans. There’s a story in these pieces if you just look through the panels and make it up as you go but be sure each element means something to me even if it is just plain old nonsense la la la. [I’m smiling at you, I hope you’re smiling back]

And here’s the link…https://youtu.be/jRISPER8BO0

There are several new videos that’s the link to the latest one I did on Friday. I ramble I warn you but the energy was so electric!! Signs!! Plans!! I have been such a dummy!! Oh my gosh! I even wrote about it here….https://thebarefoothome.wordpress.com/2019/12/20/day-354-of-365-days-signs

So I think I’ve borrowed enough of your time especially this time of year, thank you, thank you, thank you so much for hanging out with me and liking my posts. I always smile when I see people digging what I’m sharing. I just want to wrap the world in colorful happy art, like a big ole hug!! Here’s a hug from me to you, can you feel it because I’m sending it out to you!!

Have a great holiday and meet me back here when it’s all said and done.

Peace! Love! Art!

New Look!

I spent one whole day last week working on the site, the entire day! No art! Just webbing lol. But I think it paid off. I like it. What do you think?

I did paint last week too though. Let’s take a look to see I’m thinking right or if I’m only fooling myself…

strawberries and milk
strawberries and milk and polka dots
Vanilla Ice Cream Cutie
Vanilla Ice Cream Cutie #2
Finding Peace in Chaos, a you color poster

Ok, it doesn’t look like much but the poster is big, BIG and the other pieces took some time too.

Coming up I want to concentrate more of my time on character development and encaustic work and some more you color posters if this one is well received.

Last night I started a watercolor and ink piece when Moon Pie took it upon herself to help me out lol. A catlaboration lol.

I also want to reorganize my bookshelves and clean up under the printer table.

I sold a print on Fine Art America!

Have a beautiful artsy week and meet me back here next Sunday or Monday but probably Sunday for another update.

I did paint. I really did but not much. And my cheap little camera broke. Knocked off the table too many times by the cats and our good digital camera was stolen when our home was broken into last month. I did find a camera, a Nikon, to tide me over until we replace our good one but it has no charger. We’ve ordered one but won’t be here until next the end of the month so until then I’m screwed but I will catch up all the art I’m working on.

I’m thinking I may delve back into art quilts again. Psychedelic, hippie art quilts embellished and touched with uv and just get free and wild with it. What do you think? Would anyone out there dig it? I could adapt a lot of my art and free verse for the art quilts!

Hippie Girl 11

I really want to get back into the galleries again and this may be a good way, right?

I’m still riding on the sunshine of last week’s CBS Sunday Morning using my art and want to work on a Sunshine themed coffee table book too.

This was the art on CBS Sunday Morning!

For now though I guess I’ll bounce and paint and make bread and live life and stuff.

Meet me back here next week!

Who Needs Some Happy Art?

I need to connect with the groovy people who want to buy my art. I want to enhance the happy vibe with my paint. I want to spread a message of peace and music and freedom to be who we are. I want to make art that makes a difference.

Let’s see what happens when the doubts and insecurities are banished! What art can come from such a free space, a free place? I wanna find out.

This week was so crazy with Wayne’s doctor’s appointments and Sky’s trip it just really flew. I didn’t get to keep up with my day to day and really not much art time from day to day but here’s what I did create…since in an island place of peace and still digging it. Hope you do! If you see any art you may be interested in licensing or purchasing because it enhances your happy leave me a message, that would be groovy. Peace~

Since music is so important to me I’m posting a song that speaks to me everyday here > https://thebarefoothome.wordpress.com it’s like baring my soul. I think you know a lot about a person by the art they dig, the food they eat and the music they play.

Have a beautiful week and stop by next Monday to see how much paint was splattered in the studio!

Sometimes Art Is Black and White

I hit my stride last week. I didn’t make a lot of art because the art I did create took some time. I had to paint and cut out and arrange and rearrange and rearrange some more, like for days man, to get the composition just right and it paid off. I love it!

Honeycomb, Milk and Strawberries Pop Art

I also finally finished up Peace and Strawberries too!

Peace and Strawberries

I’m not done yet with the strawberries! I’m on a berry roll!

I have coffee and berries calling me so I’m going to bounce but if you want to you can stop by https://thebarefoothome.wordpress.com . I post there everyday. Meet me back here next Monday for another artsy update 😀
